A highly underrated form of metal, power metal uses epic, uplifting melodies and subjects, standing out from the majority of metal, which almost always seems to be based on loudness, lack of harmonious sounds, and other less desirable subjects (COUGH black metal COUGH). But there are bands that can do some or all of these things and sound epic and enjoyable. Heck, I changed my mind about metal after listening to Rammstein, of all bands. This video has some of my favorite power metal bands, and has my favorite metal band of all time at #1. Be sure to look at 8:50, the video features a demotivational poster I made myself.
