Ok so the few things I need to know for now is how to add the Jet flame effects and exhaust etc. I need somebody to remove the engine sound for it which is apparently in the buttons file and if they need to then put the Jumo 004 sounds in their to replace it otherwise tell me how to do this, I have all the Jumo sounds extracted from SFS.

So far someone on SAS is removing the props from the 3D propeller hub because I still need the hub.

This will be a franken and the FM will not be changed unless someone like Owl could do that for me if he knows how. Smile

Then once I do all those things above then I will release it and then I will need a new slot for it later in an update.

Cheers! Very Happy

Hmm, sounds cool! Cool
You could always ask CirX to help you with the FM and slot...
or if he can't maybe he could find someone who can. Wink
I'm practicaly useless with slots, and FMs, I tried to give a mod plane
a different FM by messing with the class files, and my game crashed! Laughing
Sorry, I can't be much help, Sad but i'm trying to figure it out,
using a mod plane "dummie". Smile (It only has one class file in it!)

I've been PMing Owl for some time. He's evidentially reading the messages, but isn't showing up, for reasons unknown.

Well that is a bit of a mysterious shame, I asked for help over at SAS on all this but they raged at me for not having permission. Smile So now I have to get permission before they will help me further, slowing my progress to a halt. And thats the point at which I came here.

Let me just clarify, but If I was to extract say the: Me-262 from the SFS then chuck it in my Mods folder, then pherhaps swap out the meshes of the 262 with maybe the meshes of the B-29 or something then thus leaving the classfiles etc and rename the 262 folder etc in my mods to the B-29 does that mean the my B-29 would fly like the 262?

Just wondering because then I have no need for creating new FM's because I could just find a suitable replacement for new planes I make.

I think so, but the animations tie in with the FM.. I made a flying boat one time... (literally! Laughing )
I just had to extract the files from the SFS archive, and put it in the -Aircraft'sNameHere!- folder.
It was hard to get it right, but I got it. maybe sometime I might be able to help you get the Shinden's
3d model onto the P-80A's FM & Slot, and after you get permission, you could get someone to help with the slot. Smile Wink

You don't have to, but if you want my help, i'm here. Smile

OMG! OMG! OMG! That is Uber Impressive, once someone over at SAS gets rid of the props of the hub then I can send you the entire 3D model of the normal version without the props? Is that what you need? Very Happy

BTW Does it have sound of jet? If it doesn't then that could be a tricky one, guys at SAS said it was in buttons file, but hopefully I can get them to fix that. I have the Jumo Sounds extracted and ready to use. Well cool and I see working? drop tanks. Very Happy

Heres a pic of what I have with the 3D with just a touch of editing with the Hier.Him, Currently in the picture there I have just set the props to Invisible so they are litteraly not there but we need that nose cone so once it is removed I can put it back. And I was thinking of maybe making the (I tried to say c*** and got nailed by the censor) look a little bit nicer and get rid of that yucky green colour.

And If I feel like it I might make a new skin for it. A nice extravogant evil skin...

WOW any chance of teaching me that stuff in future, I obviously have a lot to learn, but the good thing is that I'm making a start.

BTW lols, as a test, I made the Ar-196 A3 perform like the J7W1 by swapping their flightmodel files and stuff, kinda cool. Hmmm I wonder if that works online.

On second thoughts, Blue Angel PM me that new one you have made with the new effects etc and I then I can study the difference and learn how to place the exhaust effects etc. Very Happy That will sufficiently help me in my learning.

I have the exhaust meshes etc from the F-86 Mod ready, I think, I tried implanting them on RF80 mod but the hier.him failed to load? Mad

Yep so upload your current version of the mod so I can examine the changes, and make a seperate folder in the rar file that contains your actua modifications please.

Wow that's a lotta' posts! Laughing lol, I basically just put the Shinden 3d model on to the F-80A,
so it has the jet sounds, performance of a F-80, and the contrail & exhaust, though there's a glitch with the landing gear, so, i'm gonna upload it to you over PM, and maybe you could get the guys over at SAS to
help with it... the glitch is, the front gear doesn't go down, it goes up! (quite literally! Laughing )
And then there's another glitch, the exhaust is pointing down sort of... lol

Ah! Why didn't I think of that!

Also there is a new thing over at SAS for modders, we just post our plane and someone may choose to create a new slot for it. It is in its own little section, slot requests.

I think If we can change the FM of it to the Mig-9 because they have very similiar weights etc and range and also in game they have very similiar handling, what do you think?

I will ask one of the Experts at one of the modding site if they can extract the Mig-9FS flight model if you think it suites it aswell.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mig_9

http://ww2drawings.jexiste.fr/Files/2-Airplanes/Axis/3-Japan/01-Fighters/J7W-Shinden/J7W2-Shinden.htm

Compared to the P-80

http://www.aviation-history.com/lockheed/p80.html

So what do you think would be the better choice?

Well, there's a few problems... One, There isn't squat info for The J7W2 Shinden Kai Laughing ,
and also, the Mig 9 has two engines.... maybe one of the guys at SAS can tweak the FM for
the Mig-9 so it (also with the J7W2 being a new slot) to where the FM only consists of one engine,
and then give the J7 the new tweaked FM... Wink Of course, it's your mod, so you can do whatever with it! Very Happy
(like, give it an F-35 FM! Twisted Evil Laughing LOL just kidding)

Well actually the TurboJet engine it is fitted with doesn't give it much more power anyway. But yes like you said I could get one of the guys over at SAS to tweak that Mig-9 FM to use one engine. You don't need lots of information on the Shinden. We have the basics. The Mig-9 Weights etc are a perfect fit.
